I know I don't really post here, but I do read quite a bit, when work doesn't get in the way.

Anyway I thought I would show you guys how Breckin (was Pippin) is coming along, I took this video a couple of weeks ago when I was trying out my new camcorder and it shows just how well Breck and my youngest GSD Khanu are getting along. Khanu is dog aggressive and so careful introductions are needed when we take on other dogs, but Breck read Khanu so well that intros were fairly stress free.

My other 2 dogs are older than Khanu and before we got Breckin I really wanted to get a young dog so that Khanu would have someone to play with since Willow (female GSD, 6yrs old only a year older than Khanu but much less playful) doesn't play so much anymore and Syd (male saluki, we think he is older than first thought, probably around 10/11 now) doesn't play with Khanu ever. Things with Breckin have worked out better than I ever expected. Khanu and he are like a tag team, always getting up to some mischief or other. Breckin has really helped Khanu's confidence with other dogs when out too (although i'm careful about how much they go out together as I don't want Breckin to pick up Khanu's habits).

I'm so grateful that we were allowed to take Breck home - he's a total superstar. He's training for my college course is coming along very well, and he is such a snuggle monster biggrin.gif

Anyway this is Khanu and Breckin playing together (please forgive me the mess in the background and the audio - we were watching the bike racing!) Khanu is totally comfortable to be completely on his back - something I never thought i would see.

I'm speechless, where has that skinny little maniac gone? You've swapped him for a well built, lovely looking little tike.

Well Done you, and I don't believe khanu is dog aggressive either, they're bes-*test*-('") pals. wub.gif

I'm certain Khanu is dog aggressive laugh.gif he can be a right pain!

I really wanted to take Breck along to Loseley last weekend and meet you Selina, but we just didn't manage to make it sad.gif and I don't believe that he used to be manic - he's perfect, surely he as always been that way! biggrin.gif

As for being well built - it's hardly surprising, little thing is a pig! He jumped in the fridge the other day and snaffled a load of lettuce! (maybe not quite so perfect dry.gif ) Honestly whoever heard of a dog that likes salad rolleyes.gif

wink.gif Stanley Devil Dogs loves salad, his particular favourites are cucmber and celery which makes a great crunchy treat and takes more energy to chew than it give, I guess if he eats enough sticks he will eventually fade away! Great to see you rescue so well and if you need to compare manic tales - come and meet Stanley mad sprocker with no 'off' switch!!

Great video biggrin.gif

I know we say they are all special, which they all are, but I can honestly say out of all the fosters Breck just had that little something extra, that little something that made me go the extra mile, that extra mile was actually 6 miles twice a day on my bike through wind and rain to collect him from the kennels and take him for a walk and spot of training on Lizard downs.

Boy was I glad when we finally had space to bring him home from the kennels and in to foster with us.

It was all worth it though because Breck is as bright as a button and just wants to please.

I don't mind saying, but the day when Kelly and Colin came to see him was a day we didn't look forward to, but after meeting his new mom and dad for just a short time we knew Breck had found his forever home, and had no worries waving him off to a new life.

I should also say that Kelly and Colin also went that extra mile, or to be more precise, a round trip of, by my calculations of 552 miles, not to mention an engine that blew up.

So its a big thank you from us and ESSW for going that extra mile and giving a dog a super home biggrin.gif
