Hi. At what age should pups be removed from their mum? I have been offered my pup for collection at 6 weeks and I am not sure if this is too early. I think it is the breeder's first litter and I was too naive to know what questions to ask. I so much fell in love with the boy on sight that all thoughts and questions went out of my mind. In hindsight the seller was not too forthcoming on information.

Would it be rude of me to contact the seller again and as to revisit the pup, to extend the delivery date for a further two weeks? Thanks

I don't think it would be rude at all.

Pups need to stay with their litter mates really until about 8 weeks I believe. They learn to socialise properly and learn the strength of their bite which they learn through play with their litter mates.

I'm sure the breeder would be OK with this. If not, ask why.

Don't be shy, pups cost alot of money and it's going to be with you a long time. It has to be right.
