I have just had a breakthrough wink.gif. Ruby, my 15 month old welsh has just mananged to carry a dummy properly. Previoiusly she would almost always carry a dummy by the flat end or the toggle. I don't know why she wanted to make things difficult for herself, but she did. Maybe she has got used to being able to hold a whole tennis ball in her mouth.

Anyway, for the last few nights, I have been working on the "hold" with her, and not allowing her to hold the end she wanted by keeping my hands at the ends. Tonight, I decided to make it fun. I gave her the dummy and ran off making lots of happy fun noises - and she ran after me holding the dummy properly. We did this a few times and then I tried throwing it for her, and she did it right. The second time she went for the end sad.gif but the third and last time again she went for the end and then corrected herself and held it in the middle. Have to see how she progresses, but we might actually have licked it - woot smile.gif smile.gif

Wooo hooooo - in Freddy's brain a dummy is for the Brittanys and he doesn't see why he should do anything with one rolleyes.gif . Perhaps Ruby would have a word in his ear for me???

Freddy - if you learn to carry something, maybe you won't have any more hair cuts for a while:) . Get them to start you on tennis balls, they are great fun, fit in your mouth perfectly, and are great fun to strip smile.gif love Ruby

PS If anyone can teach my dad (Oliver, not her OTH) how to retrieve a dummy, that would make mum very happy

(Sorry I'm not very good at K9 typing, I really have to lern what keys to push, wrking on it)
