I often walk my dogs down at Riverside Park and in the field and fishing lake out the back of the Second Chance Animal Rescue which sort of follows on from Riverside Park and continues on to Itchen Valley Country Park. For about the last 6 weeks or so, either in Riverside Park, but more often in the field behind Second Chance there has been a man drinking there. According to others that I see he gets there about 10 am every day and stays there until dark, drinking, whatever the weather. It must be a horrible way to spend a life
Unfortunately, he has taken to using the bushes and shrubs as a toilet. For the second time in recent weeks Merlin came out of the bushes tonight absolutely covered in human diorrhea. I took him straight down to the rivers edge to try and get it off but I was too late and it wouldnt come off. So I had to drive home with all the windows wide open, gagging, and then straight in the bath. Cleaning Merlin tonight has to rank as the most revolting thing I have ever had to do with my dogs, it was gross beyond belief and still makes me want to gag. All I can hope is that he decides to find somewhere else to wile away his day sooner rather than later. It makes me soo angry and I know my dogs arent the only ones being affected by this

That is disgusting!!! Can't the police intervene? Aren't there any vagrancy laws or at least public safety laws? What about public intoxication? What if he has hepatitis? What a horrible thing. Poor doggie, Poor you!!

We get the same problem with gypies. I contacted environmental health and they said "oh its not our problem" human waste on playing fields not an evironmental health issue I ask you! Anyway they gave me a number of a traveller liason officer who never answered their phone. I will admit I gave up in the end.
