Thanks Sue, Just had a snuggle on the floor with her for 30 mins - lovely smile.gif

I take my hat off to you - two summers of confinement!

How about trying an old T-shirt, to see if she'll let you put it on her before you go and buy one! Sorry to hear you've had a bad day,but also glad you've had 30min cuddletime tongue.gif and thanks for taking the time out of your bad day to ask about Molly. She's been a bit like her old self tonight smile.gif sat by my feet and actually playing with some soft toys. What a difference a sponge bath can make laugh.gif and what a mess, especially when Indie decided he wanted to join in also ohmy.gif Good luck tomorrow and stop fretting, you'll get there...

If you don't need one for long have you thought about just buying a cheaper one initially to see you go. A number of the rescues I think sell hand made ones and you'd be helping them out too.

Mine have coats for when we are winter events as they are laid around with us for quite a while and could get cold, nothing posh though home made ones but they do the trick and I think they look good. I also put them on if we are going on a very quick evening walk (on lead) so they don't get soaked through before bed. I don't know why I worry about the cold, although he has access to the house if we are out Jack lays out in the garden no matter how wet or cold it is I did try leaving him in a coat but somehow he had always escaped it (without damage?).

The best coat we had was for Woody, a friend got it me from crufts it was a full Kag type in which all his legs and belly were covered in waterproof fabric. And better still it swished when he walked or ran tongue.gif You could borrow it if you like, its wasn't especially warm but kept him lovely and dry.

Thats a great pic - really put a smile on my face smile.gif It reminds me of a rainsuit my daughter used to wear when she was a toddler laugh.gif

A friend is going to lend me her doggy coat for a bit to see if Angel will tolerate having it on - I have spent a fortune these past few months, and though i don't begrudge getting Angel what she needs i don't want to waste cash on something she wont wear.

Just had the 1st 5min walk and she wasn't too bad (though she tried to take the turning for the field, bless her).

does it go over their head like a jumper???

Angel who used to be so well behaved is turning into demon dog sad.gif  Really don't know if she would let me put it over her head unsure.gif

Where has my little Angel gone and will her good behaviour ever return - can you tell we have had a bad day unsure.gif  Just feel like the dog i have had for the past 4 yrs has had a personality replacement rather than a hip replacement sad.gif

What do you actually need for her? ie back fastening not over head? Leg straps or not? Which bits will suffer the cold worst?

If you write down what her requirements are and her full measurements ie chest dia, length from nape of neck to tail set, mid chest to point of hip, waist and neck dia, then either trpd or me would be able to make something specifically to suit her. We both use equine quality fleeces (either sherpa or polar) with waterproof coverings to make coats for dogs.

Personally, I would avoid webbing straps if she's being tetchy post op and go for polar fleece (softer) straps with velcro fastenings less fiddly and much quicker on and off! wink.gif

I know this may sound silly but i haven't a clue what i need! Pre-op angel used to move so fast even a rain drop didn't have a chance on landing on her rolleyes.gif

Daisy&Missy PM'd me some wonderful coats she makes (wished i was that clever!)

I think i mainly need waterproof, fortuantely at the moment we are having glorious weather, i was just a bit concerned about her getting wet then having to go straight back to her crate.

I tried my friends coat - Angel was not impressed, I think due to that and my finances at the mo (or lack of) she will just have to put up with being dried off with a microfibre towel when it does rain!
