Badger has stopped crying at night. Brilliant, I thought, for the first time since 2nd August I can sleep a whole night through. Silly me!

Nope, Sally has adopted this behaviour now. But why?? for the last week every night starting at 4am and continuing through, she has been crying, alternating with barking, running up and down the stairs and body slamming the living room door.

Now we have had the girls almost a year (21st september!!!!) and this has never ever ever happened. So why all of a sudden is sally unable to sleep throught the night? Is it due to her op and the fact she's not being walked? Or is it somethign she has picked up from Badger?

I am a walking zombie, everyone keeps saying "you're so tired all the time" and it is frustrating Michael I think as I am such rubbish company, and with serious job hunt ahead I need to be bright eyed!

Any ideas?? I just can't understand what has triggered it.

(PS, it is not a need to go loo, have tried that and she didn't want to go, she just wanted to get into the living room to the sofa!!)
I even thuoght maybe she was "calling" me because Badger was picking on her or something as he does bite them and they hate it, but when I've gone down he's just been sleeping (unless he's faking it!) although he has nicked yoyo's bed a couple of times, not sure how that comes about??

ohmy.gif Just when you thought you could get some sleep sad.gif

Daisys sep. anx. does kick off with similar behaviour if she doesnt get enough exercise, say if busy things have been going on like decorating etc. So I can sympathise sad.gif It's so tiring especially when you have to get up for work.
WHen is she back on for gentle exercise?

If you need a chat just give me a buzz smile.gif

Thanks Sally smile.gif
I though it might have something to do with the lack of exercise thing, as she's been without a walk for a week and that's how long the nighttime crying thing is going on! Can't just be a coincidence....my only worry is she'll get into the habit of doing it sad.gif Our last check up with the vet is tonight and hopefully she'll say we can start gentle lead walking...I hope!!! She's not doing herself any favours anyway by bouncing around the house rolleyes.gif

Oh by the way, Badger is doing well.....his lead walking is still terrible and his recall very selective (have had a few near misses!!!) but we have found him some friends, a local dog walking group who meet at 7am and 5pm every day on our local park and Badger has found some greta friends to bomb about with, which ensures he is getting offlead (when we go other places he doens't go offlead yet as he bolts!) But he is slotting in well now and is soo affectionate and licky smile.gif and he does respond to his name much better and he is so cute. just need to get the lead walking and recall perfected and we'll have an amazing dog. Haven't forgotten I promised you a walk wink.gif just let me know! xxxx

I also think its to do with the lack of exercise, one reason is they have pent up energy and 2, their normal routine has gone. I have been sleeping on the floor in the living room with Angel since the op and sometimes she has woken me 3/4 times a night which she didn't even do when she was a pup! Things have started to settle slightly but im getting woken up very early in the mornings.

Im sure once her routine is back to normal - even if it is gentle lead walking - she will still get back to normal.

by the time i meet you at Bradgate Park im going to be greyer with the stress, fatter with the comfort eating plus huge dark circles under my eyes laugh.gif

funnily enough my two had a whinge last night, just didn't seem as tired as usual at bedtime, and complained for about ten minutes - maybe it was the weather rolleyes.gif

[QUOTE=angel,September 12, 2008 01:26 pm]I also think its to do with the lack of exercise, one reason is they have pent up energy and 2, their normal routine has gone. I have been sleeping on the couch in the next room from Molly & Indie for the past two weeks, last night she whinged and scratched the crate for at least an hour!I let her out twice and both times she needed the toilet.Had to bring her in to me eventually as she was disturbing Indies sleep pattern.Back to the vets tomorrow, hopefully to get the stitches out, then they can both go back to normality. If there is such a thing with two pups in the house! lol.
