Hi
Another thought I had - perhaps we could add a bit to the news section - perhaps talk about the Panto - and also the Sprufts competition being as it's topical at the mo.
Would put a section on on found springers but it would need monotoring and updating, which is why the forum is easier, but could sort something out.
Doh - hadn't updated the news section for a while
Just bumping this up as we have so many new people.
A small bit about a health problem your dog has had and how it was dealt with, anything from fleas upwards?
a bit on some training, how you trained your dog to do a certain task, or trick
and don't forget the rescue section if you want your dogs story to feature
Keep reminding me Freya and I'll get a little something done on Flo and Irish rescues.
Are you interested in anything on introducing babies to the household? If I ever get time to write it that is!!!

Oh yes?!

Ok I will dedicate my spare moments to this (don't get many mind!) - what I really need is a dictaphone so I can 'write' it whilst I'm walking the dogs/pushing the pushchair etc!
COUGH!!!!
All these things poeple offer to write, please please can you help out.
The site needs some more bits, especially in behaviour - any problems you have overcome etc.
Doesn't have to be anything long, even 6 lines is enough
Sorry - have started this, its been in my head a long time, things very hectic lately but will find a bit of time to work on it asap.
You should have Flo's story by now, that was telling us wasn't it Fran?
Waiting for conformation of Max passing then have his story and when I get a pic of him and his handler I will send that as well.
Histiocytoma.
This a a fairly common problem with young dogs, up to 12 months. What you see is a small lump, usually with the fur licked away, and it can grow very quickly.
It's best to see the vet, but the usual advice is wait and see, monitor the growth every three or four days. Often, the growth regresses as quickly as it came and the fur regrows. If the growth is in a place where the dog can scratch it, then by excoriation it can look like a wound, and be weeping somewhat. My dog had one on his elbow and worried at it, so it had to be removed surgically and it was then sensible to have cytology (checking for malignant growth) too. My bitch also had a histiocytoma on her front paw, near a toe. It never troubled her and after about two months of monitoring it, it went away. For the bitch, as I had seen the condition before, one vet check about £14 compared with the vet-check plus operation plus cytology for the dog, coming in about £150. Always see the vet first but then be prepared to wait until the histiocytoma just goes away.
Freya, we hear and obey.
thanks for getting me back on the board,
I'm really sorry I haven't managed to finish this yet, having a really mad time trying to sort out buying, insuring and renovating a house for my 89 year old parents in between looking after Ben and the dogs. Will get it done asap, but have to sort the other things out first - unfortunately its likely to be more than a few lines long!
