What causes a coat to 'blow'? unsure.gif

neutering, not always though, none of my boys lost their coats, though I suppose you could say that Miss Willow has a typical neutered Springer coat, which I dont clip.

Heather and Brandy used to be housed outside and since we moved all are now kept indoors. We have only had them trimmed by a groomer once but no clipping, I now trim and groom them all myself, general brush up and weekly comb with elastic band and tidy up trim....yes they moult....  rolleyes.gif  I have a very fetching springer haired fleecy biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Steve

Excuse my ignorance but how is the comb and elastic band used?

I have a comb with an elastic band weaved in and out of the teeth (near the top) and comb Braan with this

It works, altho I should really get a proper comb but forgot which one to get and the person who told me hasn't reminded me tongue.gif (bet she shouts at me when she sees this tho, as i haven't sorted one ph34r.gif )

Braan had his top knot stripped a few weeks back and I'm keeping an eye on his coat as he was neutered about a month back now.

Well, Benji has definately got a 'blown' coat (though i'd not heard of that expression 'til now), and he's definately about to get his first clip of the year smile.gif

He's so good. I use the horse clippers, but he just stands on the table 'til he's done. Only bit he's not keen on is his tummy, so i do the tidy up with scissors sad.gif
