Was it a hand cut or clippers? I have heard that clipping can ruin the dogs coat, Harry is coming up to 6 months and his ears are getting really long so I keep snipping at them with scissors (very scary!), but at some time soon I think we will hve to do something a bit more long term. What does anyone think?

once you clip your dog he will always need clipped, the coat will never lie the same way as before - which is what is meant by ruined. If you prefer easy maintenance then clipping certainly has advantages at a price of about £30 every 6 weeks, but the coat can be maintained with a grooming kit consisting of a comb, slicker brush, thinning scissors and a coat king (or generic copy)

Charlie absolutely hates being brushed, so we decided to clip him to ease the stress! When it grows back, it's still soft and fluffy. The clipping just suits us.

I think he looks great, before and after. Once hes got over his new style and not sulking i think he will get his own back by having a root in those lovely pressies under the tree, just incase...
