Is it ok to feed frozen carrots? My two absolutely love them rolleyes.gif and how often can they have them?
Also can they have frozen banana? And how often is okay? They haven't had that yet but i've heard it's alright to give them.
Are there any other fruit or veg that can be given frozen? biggrin.gif

I'm sure loads of people on here feed carrots both frozen and fresh.

And I am sure people stuff kongs with bananas before freezing them.

But I would make sure your springer liked bananas first.

My springer just chews them and spreads the mess of the carpet and will spit bananas out after a few chews.

Not too sure about the amount though. Perhaps just two per day cos I am not sure how well they digest them. My old sprollie Hamish seems to poo most of his out. laugh.gif

My previous springers used to love fresh peas, pod and all, beetroot and turnip. They also used to raid the strawberry patch.

But I am sure a better expert will come along tomorrow.

Meant to say the chewing and spreading over the carpet and the Hamish poo bit was about carrots. laugh.gif

My three all love bananas, infact Missy regards a frozen nugget of dog food as potentially poisonous unless it's surrounded by banana!

Carrots and bananas are both allright, but why need they be frozen?

Rhian will not eat a piece of banana, she makes the mess mentioned above. But in a stuffed yoghurt kong or mashed into her food she doesn't complain! tongue.gif

I just realised I've never given her a whole carrot to chew - but I'll try that in the garden..... cool.gif

Rafi's not overly keen on carrots, normally spits them out, however show him a head of broccoli and he'll dance around the kitchen like a whirling dervish until i start stripping the head into individual florets and feed him them one by one.

Nev loves frozen peas and raw carrot - not tried frozen carrot, must give it a go. Barney's not too keen though.

As for banana's I find a little is OK but too much tend to give me runny parcels at the other end wink.gif
