OK, have finally got fed up of the constantly heaving the hoover out to pick up dog hairs and assorted Murphy related debris, so I'm thinking about getting a carpet sweeper that we can keep somewhere more accessible and have a quick once over each evening before bed. Does anyone use one of these? Which one do the recommend, or are they a complete waste of time and money?

Thanks
Katie

I want a new one too, mine is about 5 yrs old now. Wish it would break so I could justify buying a new one, lol.

I've got the Dyson animal one, but I am very ashamed to say that I don't clean up every day. sad.gif

Hi,

I use my dyson everyday it is the original Yellow/Grey upright it is 10yrs old. I just go straight to Dyson on line and order the spare parts. Very cheap. Wouldn't be without it.

Fiona, Is the animal one any good? Does it get hair up easily?

Lisa

Basically it's called an animal because they give you an extra bit of kit - a smaller rotating head - so that you can use it on sofas etc.

It does do a good job, although some hair does still stick to the sofa etc. I don't think any other vacuums would do any better, though.

I bought mine at John Lewis in Newcastle and got it a bit cheaper (they had a deal on) and at the moment they are giving away £40 worth of free car-cleaning kit.

Cheers

I also have the Dyson animal, I think it's brilliant but I also have the Black and Decker pivot dustbuster which is great for the dog beds as it get right in the corners, But my dyson does also come out every day, sometimes twice blink.gif blink.gif I confess I am a cleanaholic laugh.gif

We have the dyson animal and am ashamed at the things that come up lol

I keep thinking about getting a floor sweeper but as we have no carpets downstairs there isn't really a point and the hoover is kept upstairs where the carpets are

note to add we don't have nothing on the floor we have a wooden floor that just needs sweeping everyday
