I was quite sceptical of another head collar, tried the Halti about 18 months ago and gave up as she really hated it. But my trainer recommended the Canny. It's not so much that Fipps pulls like a steam train on a normal collar, she can walk reasonably acceptably if there isn't a distraction, although always in front of me and then suddenly cutting across if it suited her rolleyes.gif . I aquired the Canny in order to give me more control esp when it comes to distractions. Haven't -*test*-('")ed it yet with dogs nearby but she just walks absolutely perfect with it (if she isn't resisting it, which is getting more and more). The Canny is desinged so it loosens when they are on a loose lead and only becomes tight when the dog pulls. The lead is attached to it from behind just like with a normal collar. The only down side...it is a bit fiddly to put on/off, but I think it's def worth it smile.gif So I'm very impressed with it and would recommend it.

I tried one of these with our runa away train flatcoat.

Worked great but didn't know what to do with the dangly bits when he was off the lead.

I dont like halti's, the dogs can get them off easily and they used to rub my labradors nose. I use a head collar for my big lab though called an EasyLeader. I am very very happy with this as he cannot pull, it does not rub, and is comfortable (i guess) I take it off him when he goes off lead then it gets put back on when we go home.

Am thinking about gettin one for the springer if my new technique does not work ph34r.gif

Quite simple...there are two small carabiners and you fold the 'dangly bits' round the dogs neck and connect them together. It would be all dead easy but madam is wriggling about of course and that makes it fiddly rolleyes.gif
There is a video on their web site which shows it well
