Excellent biggrin.gif

Comprehensive, simple, no jargon, what a great review tongue.gif

Makes me want to go out and get one right now, shame the Canny collar shops closed laugh.gif

Maybe I should say why I came off it, her lead walking has improved so much biggrin.gif biggrin.gif . If there is a distraction I don't walk, I just wait till it passes and she has to sit. She didn't get used to the collar and it actually made her at one point totally weird (growling at two people which fiddled about with a notice board 50 meters down the road), very out of character and that was the last time I used it.

Ok, my view, as one thats hates "contraptions"

Because it leads from the back of the neck, ie lead position, where you would normally lead from. Not the under the chin aka Halti and the Gentle Leader, so you have a much more natural position.

You do have the hoop over the nose but it doesn't ride up into the eyes and it slackens when they stop pulling forward.

I think its a fab aid to help with training heal too.

Now I never would have thought I would have posted that, have always been train train train and still am but there you go, its a clever little thing to have on board wink.gif

What colours does it come in biggrin.gif

Serious question, do the dogs react to it the way they do with Gentle leaders etc by trying to rub them off their noses?

Bam did the once twice, then got on with it, Jack did the once today but again got on with it and he was on an extendable, not that I would recommend that to your normal Springy that doesn't pootle.

And only a slight mark of where it had been, not the big welt as with the Halti.

I'm sceptical and while Jack was to heal, I checked how tight it was across the nose, it wasn't at all.

And they come in black, with ickle yellow writing on and piccies for us girlies tongue.gif

Jack doesn't and with a halti he spends all his time on his head.

I love his canni collar, we borrowed one to try and I have now ordered one for both him and Bella.

I've been using it for a few weeks now, my biggest problem is that I rarely have them on the lead so they are not used to it (my fault I know but I always think shall I do some lead work unsure.gif or shall we go a lovely walk where they can run free biggrin.gif ) so I have incorporated the new collar into training and have being more lead work. I alternate between having the nose piece on and off and have noticed already that he pulling less (albeit slightly) when he doesn't have the nose piece on and not at all with it on. Before on a normal collar he would nearly pull my arm out of the socket, with the canni collar my 6 year old niece can easily hold him to the extent where I can trust her to hold him near the road (totally unheard of before). There is hardly a mark on his face and it doesn't affect his eyes at all.

We've tried almost every device in the past, the halti made his eye sore, the gently leader didn't work at all, he pulls even harder on the harnesses and the gencon rubbed a big sore on his neck. Up to know I haven't found a down side to the canni (well it is a little bit of a faff to put on)

I found that she just didn't want to get used to it, she kind of succumbed, but the tail was always tucked in, head low, she just would not enjoy the walk, quite a depressed little dog. Made me feel bad...give the dog a walk she hates, what's the point? It rode into her eyes as well, but maybe that was because when I meassured her neck to get the right size, she fell in between (typical rolleyes.gif ), I phoned and asked for advice and she said I should take the smaller size, which I did, meantime she put weight on as she was spayed shortly before I ordered the collar and I think it might have got too small for her as in the beginning it was fine, loosened when she didn't go forward, but after a couple of months it was just tight'ish all the time.
A good point about the canny is, when you let the dog off lead, the nose strap comes off, goes round the dog's neck like another layer of collar and the dog feels free, unlike the Halti, where the nose strap is always round the dog's nose even when off lead.

This is Jack - whatever lead he is on, hence why I rarely do lead work with him. He hates not being able to run free and I hate him having his tail tucked between his legs (he's got me wrapped around his little finger/toe)
