Found this place by chance, if your up this neck of the woods check it out..

this is a much better walk to High Force, good directions at the visitors centre and the lady was dog friendly ( a sprocker owner ) dogs allowed


Cross the Tees to the Pennine Way


Teesdale in all it,s glory, keep going to Nora Batty land or Derbyshire if you like

another footbridge about a mile up stream nearer HF

High Force from the Yorkshire side

And a plodge in the Bowlees Brook when you get back

I will put that on our walks to try list.....we've only ever gone down from the car park at the top just off the main road to have a look at High Force.....the walk looks good So I'll look up the Bowlees visitor centre and start from there next time. I reckon about 5 miles round trip, walking shoes or good trainers even in the summer, loads of springy swimming pools in the more sedate stretchs of the river

Yes Fraggs but only in one field enroute, Ewes and Lambs really pleased with him he was on his lead in this field but showed no interest after an initial "Whats them then" look

Nay lass it,s just upt road Middleton in Teesdale or Barnard Castle nearest civilisation dont let them see you only have five digits on each hand, and dont tell them your not married to a blood relative and you should be fine
