Just read this book and really liked it. Its approach is anecdotal rather than purely scientific/statistical and has been written from the point of view of dogs.
I found the Jean Donaldson book, Culture Clash, invaluable for me as an inexperienced dog owner, but this book, in its way, is an antidote to that. It's sort of a long love letter to dogs.
Definitely worth a read - at once point he says:
"We are grateful for the very existence of dogs, and I like to think that they feel the same way about us. Both species have a lot for which to be grateful. It is one of the miracles of nature that we have come together in love and friendship in a way that no other two species ever have." (p 89)
Which sums up the book, really.
Published by Vintage. I got mine for 79p on Amazon (plus £2.75 pp)
