i have a 7 months old puppy called poppy who;s started to develop a blown coat.
however, she has developed it all over . and i must say it looks awful.
will all the brown on her coat go like this, and what is the best way to groom it?
i have read on other forum you should not use electric clippers, but thinning shears are better. is this so?
we desperately need your help as our dog looks like shes been drag though a hedge backwards.

Hi there,

I'm by no means an expert - I'm very lucky that Daisy has a lovely coat with absolutely no input from me!!!

But I think it would help those in the know if you could post some photos of Poppy's coat, as many as possible, so they can see what the problem is.

Am sure someone will be along soon with better help.

Is Poppy nuetered, I think it is just the puppy coat comming off, I really doublt it would be a blown coat, use a coat king on the coat

Hi

I am not an grooming expert but my mom is a groomer. She does not clip my cockers back or springers she uses a thinning comb which removes old top coat. Your picture looks likes my cocker when he needs grooming it's like fluffy baby coat.

I use a Mikki Stripping Knife Coarse (it looks like a comb) I got it from pets at home.

I agree with Mary. Probably just the puppy coat coming out.

that's what Scooby was like when he came to live with us..

I use a coat king which has improved it no end and bought it back to the shiny chestnut colour he's supposed to be..

aw... that's good news, Rufus and Stellar are a similar age and Rufus particularly looks as if he has had a perm with highlight on top of his head - he has all these paler puppy curls sat on top of his bonce bless him...
