How do you stop the leaves from falling and the wind from blowing?
Our training for the past couple of days have been a complete wash out..........simply too many leaves blowing around.
There must be a knack to getting your springers attention and keeping it, but if there is i haven't found it yet.
Indoor carparks are great in the evenings at this time of year - well lit up, dry, not too many smells to distract
(the best ones are those with security that don't get used in the evenings

)
Or find a more sheltered spot...
We have the same problem, but in the mornings I walk along a foot path that is pretty sheltered (and not very leafy!)

Train indoors |
We do all the time

But there is no point in cracking a command indoors if he won't do it outside
A sports field? We have baseball and soccer fields all over town. They are all fenced off with gates you can close. They usually don't have trees anywhere near. As long as you leave them clean, I don't think they would mind.
Good in theory, Angel, but most UK sports fields have signs saying you will be fined for letting your dogs foul. This would include picking up. It is because of Toxicara canis. (hope that is spelled right)
On playing fields kids are likely to fall on their faces and hands so even residue after picking up is dangerous. They normally ban dogs because of this.
I would recommend a farmer's field if you can find one.

Good point. Didn't think of that.
We have dog parks here (ours is brand new) and you are supposed to use only if your animal is fully vaccinated, etc. It's been open three months and allready they have found poop left behind full of worms. People don't clean up after their dogs unfortunately.
I don't use it because I don't believe it is safe.
Yes, Caesar has a lot to say about the dog parks. (we love Caesar in the UK!)
It is sad because they are such a great idea, but you will always get some selfish people.
Incidentally, not a very nice subject, but I live in Cornwall, holiday area and there are lots of doggy bins for you-know-what. The council -*test*-('") the poop regularly and there is still a high incidence of toxicara and other parasites, even in the poop of responsible pet owners who "pick up"
I think if we worried about everything we wouldn't take our dogs anywhere.
I personally, would use the dog park as long as my dog wasn't a scavenger, if you know what I mean!
I do think we have to be very responsible around children's play areas though.
I'm glad I didn't upset you for pointing this out.
