I took your advice last night, about using the thinning scissors instead of straight sided ones, and went over Daisy's coat to try and thin it out a bit for the summer. Nothing drastic, just fairly random 'slices' as my hairdresser would call them, including her chest and tummy. Then a thorough brushing to remove all the cut and dead hair.
She still looks pretty much the same, nice and shiny, just a slight bit sleeker - is it alright to do this for her?
