It was our gundog club's annual match against the Three Shires gundog club yesterday. The competition has been taking place for over 30 years. This year it was our turn to host the match and the other team travelled down through the rain from Macclesfield.

We were really lucky that we managed to avoid the rain for most of the day so everyone managed to stay dry.

This is Patch, she came 2nd in the Novice competition for the Three Shires

This is Casey, he's on our team, and came 2nd in the Open:

Another member of our Open team was Poppy:

Roly, also on our team, came 3rd in the Novice:

Although it didn't rain, it was very windy as demonstrated by Val:

A bit later in the afternoon, her young dog, Elvis 'borrowed' her hat:

There were loads of hares on the ground and as the gallery were walking along, we almost stepped on this leveret:

The day was rounded off with a dinner and dance in the evening, when the results were announced. It was a close thing, but our club managed to retain the cup.

Well done! did you run your dogs ?

Unfortunately not, the top 5 dogs from our club -*test*-('")s qualify and we finished just outside. It's still a good day to go and support everyone though. Perhaps we'll make it next year for the away match.

We've got a -*test*-('") next week in Kent with Sage which will be interesting as she's not so keen on her dummies now that she has had experience of game. We're not over worried if she doesn't pick her dummies as the aim is to get her trialling this season. Deefa isn't running in the -*test*-('"), but we're getting her ready for the shooting season.

Something to work towards next year then!! good luck next weekend please put a post up saying how it go`s. Where abouts in Kent is it? Where down your way next weekend at Paw in the Park, my gundog trainer is doing the gundog display and scurries and is using Poppy in his display biggrin.gif .

Somewhere between Sittingbourne and Canterbury. Although it's being run by the Kent Working Spaniel Club, about half of the field is travelling from Essex and are members of our club. The Kent Tests are always a good day out and their secretary runs it really well.

Hope the gundog display goes well next week.
