Sod it I thought tonight and gave him 2 chicken thighs. I put one in his bowl to start with. This is where he turned into a dog possessed by the devil. He picked it up before i had a chance to stop it and ran under the dining room table. He became so worried that i was going to take it that he wouldn't come to me.
I think he thought that i had made a mistake and wasn't going to let me change my mind. I managed to get him into another room and he literally swallowed the whole thing and then coughed it back up. He then had a little crunch before devouring the rest.
The 2nd one i held in my hand to make him chew it but as it was slippery he managed to do the same again. This time he ran behind the toilet.
I stayed back to try and make him relax , with images of me having to pull the whole thing out of his throat.
He did more crunching with this one.
Well he survived and so did I (just). Now he is running around the garden like a dog whose got the bone (excuse the pun).
How can i get him to slow down (i tried saying leave but he went very deaf at that point!) blink.gif

He knows what he's doing Sandra, leave him be and let him get on with it, the fact he tried to swallow it whole is enough to show you that he's best left alone, give him space and just turn away and ignore him, you'll find that he won't feel the need to rush it so much then. He'll calm down, it's just a novelty at the moment, real food at last!!!!! That's if you decide to carry on feeding him raw, how's your nerves now then, still shaky laugh.gif

well done
Cant add anything else
my two are laid back with raw feeding this is how they have been fed from 4 month old.
Meg who we used to walk before she went to her new owners used to do the same thing when she stayed at ours.
She was left kibble but I was naughty sad.gif and used to give her some raw she acted the same as you are describing.
