What a fun walk. Cal had a ball - he loves going out on walks with lots of spaniels. Watching all the mad charging around really makes him happy.

I was very glad that we all made it back to the carpark in one piece.

Wish Finn had just behaved himself instead of getting stuck into a Springer (who was not with us) and then deciding to have a go at Helen's beautiful GSD - who was only wanting to play.

Just to give you hope for Finn, Cal used to really hate other dogs. He had a serious problem and had to be muzzled on walks because he did pose a real risk to other dogs.

More than any other dogs, he hated spaniels. He couldn't bear to even see a spaniel.

My worst nightmare would have been coming across a group like us while walking Cal - I would never have walked him in a country park at the weekend just in case I did come across large groups of off lead dogs.

Cal hated spaniels so much that I dreaded seeing them and I wasn't at all keen on people who owned them.

I once avoided meeting Freya on a course we were both on because she has spaniels. We did meet a few months after that thankfully.

Obviously, Cal is fine with spaniels now. And young, male dogs. In fact, spaniels and young, male dogs are his favourites. He won't put up with any nonsense but if he does find he needs to tell a dog off, he doesn't hurt them.
