Kind of occurred to me that some people on ST probably don't have a clue what dogs I've got !!! of course you oldie ST folk know but here's some new pics of the woofers - and of course Morris is now a grown up he's nearly a year old now
Hattie my 4 yr old working cocker that everyone thinks is a springer !
Gracie our 3 yr old whippety lurcher- she's my teaching dog and does incredible work with difficult dogs.
Barley big handsome 5 yr old lurcher lad - he is a fabulously obedient dog, came from a travellers camp a few years ago.
Lola 5 yr old English setter - she's my lovely girl
and finally Morris aka Moomoo, pointer x working english setter, he came from Ireland in December in a dreadful state, his bones were all bendy he was suffering from dreadful malnutrition. He's grown up into a handsome strong lad and is utterly delightful, brilliant with other dogs, and just an all round lovely boy.
Moomoo in Norfolk a couple of months ago

Lovely dogs! Think I'll just have to visit and snaffle your lurchers!

Lurchers are my secret love too. I could sit and cuddle them for hours.
Your other dogs are lovely too though. You have done wonders with Moomoo. Love the beach picture.

wow, fab pictures, and what a wonderfully calm looking gang you have!

Moomoo is fab, he almost looks like he has a bit of Dane in him! I'm still one of those peeps that thinks Hattie is a Springer Pen Lola is looking great too, no pinky legs anymore Gracie is so sweet and Barley looks very noble and thoughtful, all in all what a gang to have, proud mum moment for certain and beautiful photos

Love photos. You should be proud of them.
swiss springer- 09-27-2008
Lovely pics! Just from that head shot, I can see nothing cocker-like in Hattie, but then I'm no expert when it comes to working Cockers - do they look so much different from standard Cockers?

Lovely to see the gang again Pen
For those who have never met Pens dogs, they are indeedy very calm and just the perfect ickle pack I can't help feeling Hattie is a bit outnumbered by the big dogs there Pen

We'll have to do something about redressing that balance soon Hattie is indeed a purebred cocker spannel she's actually from a really good working cocker breeder - who doesn't breed for colour and looks but for ability and brains !
oh and anyone that thinks they want Gracie - remember she used to go missing for 4 -5 hours at a time not anymore though, she's Mummy's good girl now !!!
They are currently learning (teaching themselves ) to work as a team - Morris has the most incredible scenting ability - he is always right - so he is pointing - Hattie goes in flushes out whatever it is, and the lurchers try to catch it !!! we've had one bunny this week, and several lucky escapes !!! btw any HPR people - is it normal that the hackles on Morris' tail go up when he is pointing at rabbits and pheasants and deer ?

Lovely lovely pictures and it's about time too
They're all a smashing bunch by the look of it.
I find it confusing too when you see a L/W Cocker that's fairly near sized a med/small Springer.....for I have seen one that is at least the size of Heather and have walked away convinced that it really is a Springer, or somehow I've got two Cockers .
Just been watching an episode of "Send in the dogs" and there was a Cocker on there that looked just like a Springer confusing or what?
I have a liking for the English Setters.....kind of Springers on long legs but more nuts and plenty of slobber......My sister had one and soooo irresistible to hug
Hope we see some more soon Pen!

Ahh Lola is the calmest English Setter you'll ever meet - she always has been dunno why

Your Lola is a stunner Pen and if she's as calm as you say, then you have been fortunate, but I bet it's more likely to be your understanding of her that does the trick . My sister had 2, first Duke he was a total escape artist and would run off for ages, they live down near Littlehampton so he was often on the beach romping around.. He was my Dads dog and had a very special place in all our hearts as he was the last to see my Dad alive for my Dad had a heart attack whilst out on a walk with Duke.....strangest thing was that Duke was found waiting by my Dad. Then my sister got DJ he was more placid and was very happy at home, no bogging off like Duke for him Unfortunately he died young through eating something he shouldn't have and despite the vets best efforts he died, my sister obviously was heartbroken so she's deferring getting another dog, but I see that glint in her eye when she sees our lot
I think that the English Setters are a lovely dog (and if pushed a little I'd have one too) but both of those that I have had the pleasure of were masters of the wet slobber....all over the place, just beware after a drink

Aww they are very loyal loving dogs. Duke and DJ sound lovely, what colours were they ? I'll always have an English setter, I absolutely adore them. I think the boys are more slobbery cos they have much bigger heads, and therefore more jowly space Lola is only dribbly out on walks, thankfully she never drools in the house !
