Well to kill a few hours on Saturday Me and my friend Nige went for a walk around a few of his permisions to have a look around to see what there was to offer, It was a cold, very windy day so any pigeons that could have been feeding on the acres of rape must have been keeping out of the cold winds somewere. So walk we did.

As we approached the field, we knew there wasnt a great deal to go at but the dog might flush a rabbit or so from the headgerows so we decided to walk down every hedge we could see. Boots clogged up with mud made it a bit harder than usual. The dog was very keen, flushing every blackbird and sparrow that was taking shelter along the way, at 11 months old im really happy with her progress, though she does turn 'Deaf' sometimes rolleyes.gif

As we entered on hedgerow Hollie quickly shot into the bottom of the hedge and by the look at her speed as she smashed her way through the undergrowth I knew something was about to come tearing out and I was right, a Hen Pheasant took to the air and managed to fly about 20 yds before the 12G brought her crashing down, The dog sped across and retrieved it straight back to me, the perfect retrieve.

We walked along a deep drain and managed to see 3 ducks take off but they were to far off to take a shot at.
That was pretty much as it ended, 1 Pheasant but an enjoyable few hours all the same.

Took a couple of vids on my phone, the first one of Hollie picking up the pheasant from the headge were I first left it (saved me carrying it another mile) and another of her getting wet like these dogs do.

Good girl Hollie. My OH shoots and he doesn't care if he doesn't shoot anything. he loves to see the dogs working and being out and about in the countryside watching the wildlife.

Well done Hollie. Can't view the vid as my connection is on a go slow at the moment!

It's so cool to see a springer at work. I love the noise when she shook herself when she got out of the water! hehe smile.gif
