I know its a bit late for Christmas Carols but I came across this in some stuff that Alison (SYESSR founder) had come in over Christmas, it had been doing the round with the other trustees and so has only just found its way to me. The object of the Carol is Sam (see pic) he is a gorgeous B&W deaf Springer who we had in kennels for almost 3 years, we had almost given up on ever finding him a home when Jim Oldfield came along last Summer and fell in love with him. This poem is what he had written inside his Christmas card to us from him and Sam.
A Christmas Carol
Twas Christmas Day in the rescue
And the inmates were slumped on the floor
Except for one deaf English Springer
Who was stroking the door with his paw
He'd had an idea that in barely a year
His fortunes would be reversed
That this dog-eared old lad
Would find him a dad
Who'd feed biscuits and bones till he burst
Well, he soon parked his spare
In the best leather chair
At night he would sleep on the bed
And when he'd settled in
He carried a tin
To show his desire to be fed
So if you're just a mutt
Who's down on his luck,
We'll say a prayer from afar,
For a New Year that's glad
From Sam and his dad
Thanks to SYESSR
Made me cry - how lovely to make a difference like that. x

it,s on Tiny Tim emotional level
