Hi

8 puppies and 2 older bitches were stolen from Kennels on Monday night. They are all working cockers.

There are 6 bitch pups and 2 dogs. They are coloured blue roan, choc roan and golden (from what I understand)

The mother of the pups is a blue roan and the other bitch stolen is a solid liver.

The pups are 6 weeks old and were due to be microchipped this Friday would you believe.

Please please tell as many people about this as possible so these beautiful babies can be reunited with the owners.

Here's a link to the local radio station's article. It gives the contact details for the police

How awful. This is precisely why I always warn against leaving dogs outside in kennels, the risk of them being stolen is so much more than if they live in a house. sad.gif

Bless, I hope they're found safe soon.

I know what you mean - this type of crime seems to be happening more and more often. I worry about mine even when we're on a walk as Ollie's recall is not what it should be and he sometimes goes out of my sight.

These people know they can sell the dogs/pups on even without papers and make a fast buck. I just hope they're looking after them in the meantime unsure.gif

Of little comfort but at least the mothers went with the pups!

I would never keep un chipped pups outside, also it helps with socialisation if they are reared indoors and hear all the normal everyday noises a household makes, ie hoover, telephone, telly etc.

Poor dogs! ph34r.gif sad.gif

I do hope this story has a happy ending.
Have they notified the local paper? A big article with photo of the pups might ring a bell to someone who hears of a family getting a new pup.
They might be a long way from home now, but it is worth a try.
Also, let the local vets know, as these pups might come in for vaccinations etc.
Moxie and I will be thinking positive thoughts.

Please scan the free ads as no doubt they will be sold on and post anything on the doglost page please... and if you can put up a poster, let a Policeman friend know as they see things when going into scum's houses (this has happened), Travellers camps that are advertising puppies for sale and people with new puppies.

Thanks

Thanks for all your advice so far. We've notified as many vets in the area as we can think of. We've also notified as many radio stations as we can along with the local news companies.

We've given details to as many newspapers as we can and registered the details with Doglost.

We've also been putting the word round as many flyball, agility, obedience, puppy clubs etc as we can because the more people in the 'dog fraternity' that know, the better.

I've got a horrible feeling that these pups would have been moved on very quickly but you've got to hope haven't you

Yes, you do, and it is doing the right thing for those pups and their mum.
Not only that, if you get a luck break then there is just a chance that the person who did this will get caught.
Very best of luck and do keep us informed on the forum.

You could try another post in a week or two saying something like "have you just got a new puppy?"
You never know, a lot of people read this forum.

How sad this has happened, dont give up hope. My friend had 5 Puppies stolen (not springers) and almost 2 months later after my friend had given up hope of finding them, 3 of them were all found again just through word of mouth and a very smart policeman. The people that took the pups were also found and this is a ongoing case. So I will keep you and the pups in my thoughts.

Thank you. The owners appeared to have a very tentative lead last night to a local travellers camp. They rang the police and the police warned them not to go up there as it wasn't safe but they would send a patrol car to investigate.

Surprise surprise - they found out today that nobody bothered to go and they 'might' go later today mad.gif

If travellers have got them, they need to go up there and ask to speak to whoever is in charge - and offer a reward. All these people want is the money, they don't want the bother of puppies.

You need to talk to the Gypsy Liason Officer from the council.
